Franz Kafka (německá výslovnost: IPA: [ˌfʁant͡s ˈkafka], zvuk poslech; 3. července 1883 Praha – 3. června 1924 Kierling u Klosterneuburgu); židovským jménem Anšel (אנשיל), byl pražský německy píšící židovský spisovatel. Je považován za jednoho z literárně nejvlivnějších spisovatelů 20. století, byl členem Pražského kruhu. Napsal tři romány – Amerika, Proces a Zámek – a řadu povídek a novel (například Proměna).
